Everyone at a point in life has undertaken a project. Your project could be that you want to write an examination, travel abroad, get married, or even get a Job.
When broken down to basics, most of the things we do in life are projects in their own little ways.
To succeed in any project, you need to be deliberate.
A lot of times I have seen many people get frustrated while carrying out some little projects.
Most of the time such projects end up a total waste of time and a total drain of funds. The simple reason for some of these project failures is because many people fail to apply simple project management procedures and skills.
Many people tend to do the last things they should be doing first, while others are very unaware on what techniques are available to aide their project delivery.
This means that every failed project should be blamed on the project manager/team, and most times that project manager is you!
This article will introduce you to some basic project management techniques that can easily make any of your project a success when followed.
BUT FIRST - WHAT IS A PROJECT?
A project is any activity in which human, material and financial resources are organized so that a desired result can be achieved.
Project applies to a lot of things. A woman selling food along the road is carrying out a project. A Barber cutting the hair of his client is carrying out a project. Developing a website, Photography, Event planning, Construction work at any level – all of these are projects.
Everyone that undertakes a project has the intention to make it a success; this is only possible if the project is done with good project management procedures.
Following the steps listed below will help you succeed in any of your project:
STEP 1 - Determine the Scope of the Project
STEP 2 – Allocate Resources for the Project
STEP 3 – Plan every Detail of the Project
STEP 4 – Carryout Execution according to Project plan
STEP 5 – Close and Finalize all aspects of the Project
I will like you to succeed at your projects, whether it is to make more money, pass an exam or build a new house.
In my next post, I will break down each of the five step requirements given above for making your project a success. Don’t forget to leave a comment and share this post if you found it useful.
